Healthful Meals Take Advantage of the Healing Power of Food

Healing Foods Cooking Classes teach participants how to prepare easy and healthy recipes using foods that promote health and help fight disease. Classes taught by Susan Faerber and other members of the Prevention Program include demonstration, discussion about ingredients and cooking methods, tasting, and recipes.  View the class Dates and Topics. Monthly Lectures Two classes are offered each month on nutrition by Vicky Newman, MS, RD, Associate Clinical Professor, UCSD Department of Family and Preventive Medicine and a member of the Cancer Center’s Prevention and Control Program.  “Fighting Cancer with Your Fork” provides a practical overview of nourishing foods essential for health and healing with tips on how to incorporate these easily into your life. “Nutrition Solution for Common Challenges During Treatment” focuses on managing treatment-related challenges that can occur, such as appetite loss, nausea, constipation, gas-formation, taste changes, and weight loss.
